Wulf Theatre’s wolves run loose with The Paper Cinema this weekend!

The Paper Cinema's Odyssey: the wolves come out to play

This Friday and Saturday, The Paper Cinema’s Odyssey will take the audience on a wild and live journey of animation, illustration, puppetry and music in Bournemouth’s atmospheric Pier Theatre.

Wulf Theatre’s roving wolves/wulves will be charming and snarling by turns, both before and after each show, inviting you into an immersive environment that echoes aspects of The Paper Cinema’s Odyssey. Odysseus left Penelope all alone and the wolves smelt her out… an unruly pack of suitors await you…

The Paper Cinema’s Odyssey is a special commission for Arts Bournemouth and Activate for the Arts by the Sea Festival Bournemouth.

Homer’s cornerstone of literature is vividly told with beautiful illustration and masterful puppetry. Cinematic projection and cunning tricks transform a suitcase full of cut-out paper puppets into an array of living characters and striking landscapes. A silent film is created before your eyes, set to a captivating live score from exceptional musicians.
